I am so excited to write about the Elta MD UV Physical SPF 41 sunscreen because it’s one of my absolute favorite products and something I actually use every day, rain or shine. If you don’t know why you should be wearing sunscreen every single day, no matter the weather, you should read this – you’ll learn a lot – like that 80% of wrinkles are actually sun damage!).
Not all sunscreens are created equal and I’m happy to say that this one delivers great results on all fronts. It has great ingredients, no harsh chemicals, and offers amazing UVA/UVB protection. It is great for all skin types from oily to dry to combination. So if you want to avoid wrinkles, brown spots, discoloration, and more, read on and find out if this sunscreen is right for you! Note: this is a tinted sunscreen that is unfortunately unsuitable for dark skin tones. It is best suited for those with light – tan hues.
How to use it:
Apply to face and neck every morning after your moisturizer.
Does is have UVA or UVB protection?
This sunscreen has both UVA and UVB protection – this is essential in any sunscreen you are using.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. This sunscreen is waterproof and sweatproof
The look & feel:
This is a tinted sunscreen – so if you’re going to the beach it will cover any redness and blemishes you have (similar to a BB cream). However, it is also light enough to wear makeup over it (I do so daily).
The consistency is thick but the application is extremely smooth and not greasy at all.
The smell:
The Elta MD UV Physical SPF 41 sunscreen does not have a scent. This is great because it prevents irriatation for even the most sensitive skin types.
The price:
Ranges between $30.00 and $45.00 for a 3 oz. tube.
How long will this product last:
My first tube lasted me over 8 months – I used it every single day, I was also in Spain and Greece for two of those months where I would sometimes use this sunscreen twice a day or more.
Is it worth the investment:
The Elta MD UV Physical SPF 41 sunscreen is 100% worth a try. It is the product that made me actually commit to using sunscreen daily. We’ll all have to write Elta MD thank you letters when we’re 50 but looking like 30!
